Did you know that our instructors teach pupils to drive safely not just how to pass their driving test! Its the reason we don’t offer intensive driving course, or ‘crash’ courses. Read the following guidance below.

We are pleased to report that the DVSA has released new guidance that better explains a pupils test result, which will help them to understand any areas that need improvement – whether they pass their test or not. The 24 skill areas that are needed to be taught to a pupil correctly and safely in order to pass a driving test are outlined below, and we make sure we teach each and every one of them. Guidance

• awareness and planning
• clearance to obstructions
• control
• controlled stop (emergency stop)
• eyesight check guidance
• following at a safe distance
• forward park (drive forward into a parking bay) guidance
• fuel-efficient driving (eco-driving)
• judgement (overtaking, meeting, crossing)
• junctions (including roundabouts)
• move off
• pedestrian crossing
• position and normal stops guidance
• positioning
• precautions
• progress
• response to signs and signals guidance
• reverse park (parallel park or reverse into a parking bay)
• reverse / right (pull up on the right)
• signals
• use of mirrors
• use of speed guidance

This is why it is advised in the UK the average hours of in car tuition with a qualified driving instructor is 30-4 hours
